Industrial robot integration connects a machine to a production process. The robot, tooling, controls, working area and operator procedures must be assessed as a system.

Different platforms, different engineering questions
Fixed industrial arms may suit handling, loading or repetitive manipulation within a defined cell. End effectors, part presentation and upstream or downstream equipment can be as important as the arm itself.
Collaborative applications require assessment of the complete task, tooling and human interaction. A collaborative robot label does not make every application safe without guarding. Mobile robots address movement through an environment and need route, traffic and load-transfer assessment; they are not interchangeable with fixed arms.
Specify the application
- Payload including tooling, centre of mass, reach and working envelope.
- Cycle time, part variation, repeatability needs and planned duty cycle.
- End effectors, fixtures, sensing and material presentation.
- PLC and other controls interfaces, interlocks and production handshakes.
- Guarding, access, isolation, risk assessment and safe operating procedures.
- Commissioning, acceptance testing, operator training and maintenance access.
Integration with the wider line
Planning needs to include equipment readiness, control changes, site access and realistic commissioning windows. A robot cell can only be evaluated in relation to the process around it. Broader PLC, CNC, HMI and manufacturing-system work belongs in the industrial automation scope.
Final platform and application suitability depend on engineering assessment. Safety-related control functions require their own appropriate design and validation; a general monitoring dashboard is not a substitute.

Can you integrate with existing production equipment?
The assessment reviews available interfaces, documentation, controls access and constraints. Integration scope is confirmed once these are understood; compatibility is not promised in advance.
Is a collaborative robot always the right choice?
No. Task, payload, speed, tooling, human access and risk assessment determine suitability. A fixed guarded application or a non-robotic automation change may be more appropriate.
